Have you spotted the newest member of Team Terra in the store lately? He’s stoic and trustworthy. He is super helpful in making the challenging decision between two shoes. He works a ton of hours in the store, and honestly he hasn’t left once since he arrived around Thanksgiving.
It’s our new treadmill!
We added a treadmill in the back space of Terra Running Company around Thanksgiving. With the excitement of Black Friday, traveling to The Running Event in Texas, and the holiday season, we’re just getting around to telling you about it now!
We have almost a decade of experience fitting you for shoes, so even a fancy treadmill won’t change our tried and true fit process. We are excited that the treadmill can be an additional tool to help you gather more information about the shoes you’re trying and make an informed decision.
After watching you walk, chatting with you about your needs and injuries, looking at the wear pattern on any old shoes you’ve brought in, and measuring your feet, we will bring you some options from a few brands to try. This is where the treadmill is a great additional tool! We recommend you lace up both shoes in the pair and hop on the treadmill to run or walk for a few minutes. Better than just standing in the shoes, actually moving in them can give you a better idea of how they feel: do you have enough room in the toes when you run? Does the heel stay in place when walking? How does your arch feel with the amount of support in that shoe?
We have been slowly incorporating the treadmill into our try-on process here in the store since late November and customers have loved the opportunity to really get to try the shoes before buying them. Yes, it’s easy to click “Buy Now” online and have shoes show up at your door next day, but the opportunity to actually try shoes on and run in them before making a purchase is invaluable, and can only happen in person!
So before you make a huge purchase sight-unseen and without feeling the shoes on your feet, stop in Terra Running Company.
