Fall 2026 Race Highlight: Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake Family Fun Run

Q: First things first! Can you introduce yourself and your organization to our readers?
A: We are the team behind the Little Debbie® Family Fun Run Series, representing McKee Foods in Collegedale, Tennessee. Our goal is to promote active, healthy lifestyles in our local area while bringing families together to celebrate community, movement and a little holiday cheer.
Q: Terra Running is excited to be part of your race this fall! How long has the race been going on?
A: Our race series officially kicked off in 2024 to engage the local community in fitness through fun, family-friendly events. It’s grown so quickly in popularity, and we are thrilled to host our Christmas-themed edition again this December!
Q: What is the course like?
A: It’s a scenic route showcasing the best of Collegedale. The course runs along the Collegedale Greenway — it’s relatively flat, beginner-friendly and takes participants past tranquil ponds, winding creeks, tunnels and wooden bridges.
Q: What does the race raise money for?
A: Proceeds directly benefit the Collegedale Veterans Memorial Park. We are proud to support this incredible local space that honors our veterans while providing a beautiful environment for neighbors to gather, walk and stay active. Additional donations can also be made during registration or sent directly to the Collegedale American Legion, Post 257.
Q: What do runners and walkers get for participating in the race?
A: Every participant receives a high-quality event T-shirt, a Little Debbie Christmas Tree ornament and a custom finisher's medal! Plus, the absolute highlight waiting at the finish line: an abundance of iconic Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes to celebrate your finish.
Q: What is something unique about your race you would like people to know?
A: Aside from crossing the finish line into a holiday wonderland of snack cakes, the overall atmosphere is pure festive joy! You’ll see tons of runners dressed in holiday costumes, Santa hats and ugly sweaters. Our mascot, Holly, will be on hand too for photos and to cheer on participants! Plus, keeping the event family-friendly with a dedicated Kids' Zone and Kids' Dash makes it a holiday tradition for all ages.
Q: What was the idea behind the race?
A: We wanted to create an accessible holiday event where serious runners, casual walkers and young kids could all participate together. Combining outdoor fitness with beloved holiday traditions (and treats!) felt like the perfect way to bring our community together during the Christmas season.
Q: When is packet pickup?
A: Packet pickup will take place at the Little Debbie Bakery Store, in Collegedale, on Thursday, Dec. 3. We’ll also have run-day morning pickup available for out-of-town participants!
Q: Anything else you'd like to share?
A: Early-bird registration is super affordable starting at $25 (plus processing fees), and the Kids’ Dash is only $10. We’ll also have a festive Kids’ Zone set up with fun holiday activities! Huge thanks to Terra Running for their expert timing to make this event run smoothly. We can’t wait to see everyone at the starting line on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2026 — whether you’re running for a personal best or just chasing a Christmas Tree Cake!
