Race changes coming in 2026
Terra Running Co. has been putting on races for over a decade and we are excited about some changes we are implementing in 2026. You may have already noticed a few of these, but we wanted to fill you in on the updates and the reasons behind them.
Registration moving from ChronoTrack to Run Sign Up: In March 2026, ChronoTrack is sunsetting their registration platform so we are excited to be moving all of our race over to Run Sign Up. The registration platform is more robust and allows for more freedom for the race directors we work with. You can see all scheduled price increases and there is more room for race details on the homepage. Check out some races we already have set up on Run Sign Up:

2. Reusing bibs and pins! The material Tyvek, that makes bib numbers so sturdy and able to withstand your fastest 5k or messiest 26.2 also make it nonrecyclable. The good news is, as long as the RFID chip on the back is not broken, the bib number can be reused! We will collect used bib numbers in good condition after each race to reuse for future events. If you love to keep your bib and proudly display it on your wall at home, be our guest! It’s yours to keep! But if you are planning to drop that bib number in the trash the moment you get home, stop by our timing table or bring it into Terra Running Co. anytime. We will gladly take back bibs in good condition to reuse! Similarly, we can reuse safety pins! Did you know we purchase over 30,000 safety pins every year to give out to participants of our events. Surely we all have a pile at home in our junk drawers, so help us cut down on waste and save and reuse your pins.
3. No more paper registration forms. ALL registrations will go through Run Sign Up, whether you register months ahead of time or wait until the day before the race. We have used paper registration forms as an alternative to many races in the past, but not anymore! Online registration will remain open until 15 minutes before the race starts. This will cut down on paper waste, loose money, loose forms, human error manually entering race info to the computer, and manpower.
Hard deadline 15 minutes before: All races will now have a hard registration and pickup deadline 15 minutes before the event starts. The race timers need 15 minutes from when bib assignment and registration closes to when the event starts. Please plan accordingly as this will be a big change for all of us!
Dynamic bib assignment: We are excited about the use of the Race Day Check In App from Run Sign Up for bib assignment at Packet Pick Up. This will allow us to assign bibs as you arrive to pick up your race number. This will save manpower preassigning bibs, allow online registration to stay open until 15 minutes before the event starts, and save on the cost of wasted bibs for those who don’t show up.
